Please call us at (910) 387-2561 if you cannot find an answer to your question.
When you come into our salon, we will take you to our spray room and have a quick color consultation - figuring out what color works best for your skin complexion.
Once we decide on a color, your technician will step out allowing you to dress down to your comfort level. Upon reentering the room, we will do our prep & then preform the tan.
The whole process takes about 10 minutes and we walk you through every step of it.
Preparing for your spray tan is EVERYTHING!! We recommend showering at least 4+ hours BEFORE your tan.
SHOWER // SHAVE // EXFOLIATE your skin. Come to your appointment with no makeup, lotion, or deodorant on your skin.
During your tan - you wear whatever you are comfortable with. We usually recommend an old pair of panties & no bra. We've spray tanned ladies in shorts and a t-shirt, so just know what we will spray you in whatever you want to wear.
For after your spray tan, wear something dark colored & loose fitting. DO NOT WEAR TIGHT CLOTHES OR SHORTS for after your session.
We spray tan you with an express solution meaning it stops developing in color 6 hours after the initial spray tan. When we tell you what time to rinse - that is not a suggestion. Leaving your tan on longer than the recommend rinse tan can result in an over development in color which can lead to an unpleasant tan.
NO. NO. And NO!! No orange colors here. We mix a custom blend of solutions that compliment your skin tone.
IF, and it's a big IF, you have an orange spray tan, here are a few things that could have happened -->
1) you did not prep properly for your tan.
2) you're using Dove soap to wash which changes the pH levels in your skin; therefore, causing an orange tan.
3) you left your tan on longer than the recommend rinse time & the DHA has over developed on the skin.
4) hormones play a large factor in the results of your spray tan. If you feel like there is an orange tint to your tan, keep in mind that your monthly cycles can cause a change in the pH levels in your skin as well.
No worries - we get this a lot. After you take your initial rinse, you may notice that a lot of your color is gone as well. That's totally normal. The DHA left behind on your skin will continue to develop 12-24 hours after your initial session. So sit tight! Good things come to those who wait.
In general, we say that spray tans will last about 5-7 days. Everyone's skin is different & a lot can effect how long the tan last. With proper care and proper hydration of the tan, it can last closer to 7-10+ days. We have everything in the salon you'll need to help extend the life of your tan. Just ask your technician what you can do to make the tan last.
We recommend if you are spray tanning for an event or vacation, 1-2 days before is best.
If you are a bride spray tanning for your wedding, we recommend 2 days before your big day. So typically we recommend that Thursday night if your wedding is on a Saturday.
Whatever day you choose, make sure the spray tan is the LAST service you get done. Have all pedicures/manicures, waxing services, hair cuts/colors, lashes, etc. done at least 24 hours before your session.
